Archaeological Field Course
Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology, the Middle Eastern Culture Center in Japan will hold an Archaeological Field Course in 2011. If you are interested in, please apply after you attend the orientation.

Objectives:
- Expand archaeological experience through excavation research in Anatolia
- Offer introduction to ancient Near Eastern or Anatolian history and archaeology
Contents:
Excavation
- Understand and practice excavation research system
- Understand and practice conservation of archaeological remains and artifacts
Study on excavated artifacts
Lectures on archaeology and relevant fields
Location:
Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology and Kaman-Kalehöyük excavation site (Çağırkan village, Kaman, Kırşehir, Republic of Turkey)
Dates
Please select one of the following course periods (1, 2 or 3).
- Monday, 11th July, 2011 to Saturday, 23rd July, 2011
- Monday, 25th July, 2011 to Saturday, 6th August, 2011
- Monday, 8th August, 2011 to Saturday, 20th August, 2011
Participants are required to arrive on the Sunday afternoon prior to the first day of the course, and to depart on the Sunday following the last day of the course.
Capacity:
3 to 4 participants for each course.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate or postgraduate students (Archaeology major is not essential).
Course Fee:
50,000 yen (includes food and lodging; participants are expected to pay for their travel to Kaman, Kırşehir, Turkey).
Orientation in Tokyo (required of all participants):
Saturday, 27th November 2010 from 13:00 in the small auditorium at the Middle Eastern Culture Center in Japan.If you would like to attend the orientation, apply using the application form by Wednesday, 24th November 2010.
